U2 – YouTube’s biggest Live Event

November 2nd, 2009 View Comments

10million views later and U2 have stormed YouTube’s top live event charts. Not entirely sure if there definetly ever has been a “YouTube’s top live event charts” but with 10 million views U2 has delivered.

Quite strange really as you would expect YouTube to have done similar events to similar scale, but I guess this is a reflection of YouTube’s slow move into really good professional content. Its still 95% cats on skateboards in my view.

Interestingly, 3 years ago I worked on the Live Earth Al Gore event with Philips and MSN. Even 3 years ago MSN were (stutteringly) able to achieve 10m views of live content, which was at the time the largest live event MSN had done.
