It has always surprised me that people get away with the shortening of
“as soon as possible” into the much more aggressive ASAP or asap. For
those on mobile phones its immediately capitalised, but there is
surely no reason to be that aggressive in emails when a simple lighter
touch asap would do.
Too many times I get emails from people with the demanding ASAP even
though they sit merely a few floors or desks away. If its that ASAP
why don’t you come and ask me for it.
I’m petitioning for the much less aggressive ” Whenever You Are
Ready”. Even when this is shouted as WYAR there is no way it can sound
aggressive, wyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrr its to jovial too. Let’s campaign for more wyar and less
ASAP. You never know those emails might even become a friendlier
connection.
