Charity seems to be plagued by copycat ideas at the moment. The Fashion Targets Breast Cancer model has been copied by one and all to varying degrees of success. The music and concert model that Rays of Sunshine have used so powerfully is now used by multiple charities. It is about time somebody came up with something more imaginative.
So thankfully, Carrefour created the Virou.gram project. Simply put, for each letter that is shortened, Carrefour will donate 1 gram of food to the Brazilian Red Cross Charity project. Simple and sweet. Good work Carrefour.
Now if only somebody could create an app that allowed us to:
1) Avoid all locations of charity muggers
2) Make it legal to punch charity mugger in mouth
I don’t talk about my family alot on here as it has always been a work focused blog. My work, however, pales in comparison next to my sister’s line of work. She is a fighter pilot in the Royal Air Force. Well, not just a fighter pilot but one of the best pilots out there.
She is also incredibly generous and charitable. Every year means another charity fundraising adventure. She has raised a massive amount for charity over the last few years and is now working on her most ambitious project to date.
31000 is the title of it. With her squadron, she is aiming to raise £31000 for Help the Heroes. They are going to do this by swimming, cycling, and running 31000 miles during the time they are in Afghanistan. It is an amazing effort and deserves all the support I can muster. I’m very proud, I hope you can help even if it is just £1.
